Your post has been very interesting to read. We have a six year old son and travel a lot as a family. My son is prone to getting colds and before we traveled his pediatrician told us not to just continue with the same medication every time he got sick. He told us to consult with the pediatrician in whatever city we were in and then take whatever medication that pediatrician prescribed. He also explained about the difference between viral and bacterial infection and why both need different types of treatment.
